About
I have been licensed to practice massage therapy in Arizona and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 2008. I completed a 750-hour massage therapy training program through ASIS Massage School in Prescott, AZ.
During my time as a massage therapist, I have completed continuing education in movement awareness, myofascial release techniques and Anatomy Trains-based postural assessment, as well as biodynamic craniosacral therapy. I worked in both therapeutic and relaxation massage therapy settings prior to opening Granite Mountain Massage in 2010; I draw from this breadth of experience to customize every session to each client’s needs and goals.
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I completed a BA in American Studies and Environmental Studies at Marlboro College in 2006. Before moving to Arizona, I worked in watershed outreach for a non-profit organization in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I have been a Prescott resident since 2007.
Philosophy of Care
I believe that each person has an innate ability to heal, and that massage can be a powerful tool for accessing that healing capacity. My goal is to assist all of my clients in achieving vitality in their lives, and a sense of freedom, joy, and integration in their bodies. While it may sound obvious, your body is with you, day in and day out, for your whole life –why not make that a joyful experience? Many people live life without a sense of joy coming from simply being present in their body. I believe the work that I do can help people connect with an enduring peace, ease, and vitality in their bodies.
